Boron nitride is an important wear-resistant material with high hardness, high melting point, and other characteristics. It is widely used in fields such as abrasive processing, coating materials, and ceramic manufacturing. At present, there are two main synthesis methods for boron nitride: direct reaction method and pyrolysis method. Suitable synthesis methods can be selected according to different needs.
The usually produced boron nitride has a graphite like structure, commonly known as white graphite. Another type is diamond type, which is similar to the principle of transforming graphite into diamond. Graphite type boron nitride can be transformed into diamond type boron nitride under high temperature (1800 ℃) and high pressure (8000Mpa) [5-18GPa]. It is a new type of high-temperature resistant superhard material used for making drill bits, grinding tools, and cutting tools.
